I never did one, but planned to at one point and then canceled. Back then you just needed to call them up and reserve it... assuming it was available they would ship it to you and you just needed to pay to ship it back.
Anyone ever do a CPS loan??????

Craig depending on your level of CPS membership you can "check out" lenses for free as long as they arent reserved...

CPS = Canon Professional Service. It used to be free, but very, very hard to get into if you couldn't prove that you were a working pro. Now they've got several tiers, starting with a free tier, and its much much easier to get in if you have some equipment. The free tier doesn't allow loaners. The tiers that do allow you to borrow anything they have available... say you need a 400 2.8 IS lens for a weekend... and your only expense is the return shipping. This can help you if you have something in for repair, or want to try out something before buying it, or just occasionally need a pricey lens but can't justify buying it. I've been in CPS for years and never actually used this program.

I just returned the 24-70 2.8 that I got on loan from them it's a nice lenes but i'm just not sold on it. for some reason I just didn't get the shots I really wanted all the time.. now there were some OMG shots that looks great but there was a lot of OOF shots also I know it might have been that it was only with me for 12 days but I had high hopes for this lens and it didn't wow me like the 70-200 2.8 is did.
any suggestions as what to loan next?
