Excatly what I thought Ross, You would have thought they would have named it the 60D or something.

This looks great, 1,700 dollars brand new, by the time I've got the cash to upgrade it should be down in price a little.

So far from what I've read it's seems to be a nice camera, I could do without the video and wish they hadn't gone to 18mp. I'll wait a while till the dust settles and see how it turns out and maybe next year I'll upgrade.

This is like some sort of franken-camera. They took the 5D II and 50D into the lab and ended up with this thing. Its bigger, heavier, and more expensive than the 50D, and I believe close in price to the 5D II... so who will buy it? That said, its weather sealed and 8 fps, so it might be a good sports camera. I would consider upgrading from my 50D, but I want to see how it performs for sports first. Its AF is a new system not on any prior Canon DSLR... a new number of points, and some slick new options. I've been totally unimpressed with all of Canon's AF efforts in the past, so will be interesting to see how it does. I would just love it if they could build a new franken-camera... Canon's lens mount and handling, with Nikons AF engine and flash system. That would be a nice camera.

I can't wait to start hearing reviews when it hits the streets. I'd love to upgrade my body sometime soon.

I think the video could be fun to play with. The weather seal sounds like a great thing as most of my shooting is outdoors and not always in the best environments.

Let hope the auto-focus is a huge set up!
