    Won my first competition!

It's just a little monthly thing on DPReview but it still feels great to get acknowledged. There were some fantastic submissions. I'm surprised I got it.

    Britton,

I looked at the other entries and I looked at yours...

And you DEFINITELY deserve this win!!!! That pic is absolutely beautiful AND, especially if it's recognizable to the locals, it would definitely sell. Beautiful comp and colors, great dof control - just awesome. Congrats, Bud.
    Photography stuff.

Hey Britton, I remember this photo. I remember telling you how much I liked the red flower with the red barn as part of the background. Excellent shot.

Solid work my man...There was some stiff competition, you're right. I like that partial red rose, and the Spring in the Alps...but who the heck can go to the Alps for a shot, so YOU WIN!!!

Thanks for the kind comments everyone.

Jamie: It was comments like your original one which helped me select which shot I was going to post for the entry. Thanks!

Ian: Thanks for the great comment. I still consider myself just an amateur. My main focus is to have fun capturing images. Every once in a while I end up with a good one .
I live in a very small town so, it's not likely to sell. I am thinking of making a nice print of the shot, framing it, and giving it to the gentleman who runs the farm. He is my neighbor and I took the shot from my back yard.
