I have been there about 50 total times over the course of my life... its a great place and I would go again in heartbeat... so count myself, Trish, and probably Johnny in as long as we arent snowmobiling... =)
Who's up for a field trip to Howe Caverns?

I spoke with the good folks there and photography is allowed as long as you don't bring any light stands or monopods/tripods. It's a balmy 52 degrees underground. Please check out the site above and let me know what you think

there are some definate photo ops... maybe not as much as you would think... it takes a bit of lighting to get some of the shots... but then again its not terrible either... so you should be ok with even an on-camera flash for some of the shots you will encounter...

I went this summer....and I don't use a flashI prefer low-light photography in general though. Now that I have the 100mm lens, I might use the flash for some macro shots - but only very sparingly. I love the colored lights they use already.
It's definitely fun, and you'll find some photo ops! It is much more expensive now than I remember it being before though. They were also talking about opening up more sections of the cave that had been previously not open to the public. That sounds interesting for sure!

i havent been there since i was like 10, my wife has never been. i would be down for that trip depending on timing.
I've never been, but my kids have. If the trip is before I move, then I might be able to squeeze it in.
