Here are some shots from the Mohawk river near our home immediately after the hurricane came through. The local stewarts parking lot (well above the river) Rexford Bridge (high but not maxed out yet) The old bridge abutment, the water is almost over it here, it normally runs 6 to 8...
Well the Mohawk is running very high right now, I just took this picture a bit ago. This is the public dock that we usually launch our kayak from...

On Wednesday, a line a severe thunderstorms passed through my area. Unfortunately one of them spawned a tornado which destroyed much of a neightborhood in West Springfield before crossing the Connecticut River and setting its sights on downtown Springfield eventually making its way to Monson, MA,...
God bless my wife, she loves to shovel. If we get any more I've no place to put it.
I walked out my front door last night to see this.
Had a severe thunderstorm come up from Connecticut tonight, passing just east of downtown Springfield. Really intense lightning. Here's one of a few good ones I got.
I don't think I ever posted this one on here but this was back on 3-29-2009 in Strasburg, PA. I was taking photos at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania and they suddenly announced that they were closing a half hour early due to severe weather. When I was walking out through the lobby I heard one...

A severe thunderstorm tonight over the Atlantic near Cocoa Beach, FL

These are a few I took around my house the day after the ice storm. This ice formed on my grill outside... Sorry this one is a little dark... it was so bright outside that I was either blowing out the picture, or stopping it up too dark.
A shot in black and white... A tree limb caught in our power lines...
I'm still trying to get the hang of shooting IR... I've only done it a couple times now, but the recent ice storm had me itching to see how it would look in IR...
All the neighborhoods around me seem to have power except for me last night. The aftermath of the ice storm seemed to be filled with contradictions. It was eerily beautiful and scary at the same time. After searching for something warm to drink last night I drove down a stretch of Princetown...
But, but, but, but, it's only October! Freak snowstorm left 5" of snow after 2" of rain. Our old lilacs still had leaves...they just got pruned by the heavy snow. We could hear the stems snapping from inside the house. Lots of tree branches down but we never lost power.
