Any fans of this group here?
I had heard the name, but wasn't familiar with their music. When they appeared at the Green here Sunday I decided to drop by and made these captures.
The guitar player was the most active, so I featured him. But as I watched and listened I couldn't help thinking, I...
Back in June, Ross and I went to Fort Ticonderoga for the Grand Encampment of the Seven Years' War - a commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Carillon in 1758. There was a phoenomenal turnout - both participants and tourists/viewers... such a strong interest and showing for history...
To take my mind off packing for the big move...I present to you some more random shots from the past few months. Most of these are untouched but someday I will go back and fix em' up. :D
Here is another set from my most recent shoot. This band was on tour from Maryland and were all kinds of fun to shoot. The bass player was ALL OVER THE PLACE! (And unfortunately under the red gels, so many good action shots of him were not usable  ). Will shoot for critiques.
Alright, you guys asked for it! Here is a set from my most recent shoot a few weeks ago. Feel free to nitpick as much as you can...I am here to learn and this was my first real venture into post-processing (only been shooting since January). EXIF data should be intact.
The girl who does my tattoos works with the lead singer of this band, Room 237. You'll see in the pic he has "some" ink. And if anyone knows of the movie The Shining, you'll be familiar with the background of Room 237.
I'll link it, because the pic is huge:
Heads up...the 250th Battle of Fort Carillon (Ticonderoga)
is this weekend with battles both Sat. & Sun. If you've
never been, then you should go! Very colorful and exciting
especially if you have kids (or are one still yourself). See you
there if you're there Saturday! I'll be the one with...
Same band I usually shoot (Curtain Hits the Cast)... I think these guys are getting better every time I see them.
A metal band that I'm not sure anyone here would like, but hey, they're PICS!!!
I had the pleasure of attending a very nice winter concert last night. There was everything from choral based negro spirituals to power trio inspired Iron Maiden covers. The students were mostly dressed very well and performed wonderfully, especially Chris. Chris is my buddy down in CT. He's 17...
Jill & I went down to Toad's Place on Nov 9th to see a couple old friends play on the stage - Mighty Purple and Gargantua Soul. Also with them was the Seth Adam band, who also had a guest singer for a couple songs - none other than Christine Ohlman (of Saturday Night Live band fame). Here's a...
Ok so I shot this band for promo pics for their Press kit...I really like how these came out!
This is their choice #1 for the press kit
My friend's band, Nite Train with the High Voltage Horns, had a CD release party Sat night. Given that I was recovering (and still pretty wiped out from a double kidney infection) and my shooting positions were really limited (along with my lack of enthusiasm for gettin in all kinds of weird...
My friends band Nite Train was playin last night at the Patroon Inn in East Greenbush, NY. I sell CD's for him at gigs and take pics for fun. The lighting sucked here, but I got a few decent shots. These are untouched, straight from the camera and just resized.
I haven't touched this up at all and don't really want to....I think its one of those shots that you always hope to get when shooting bands, with the lighting just so and the subjects angled and posed just right.
Let me know what you all think...I'm always opened to CC and suggestions!!!
Curtain Hits the Cast once again!!! This time it was at a local bar in Hartford (Up or On the Rocks). Lighting for the stage was one spotlight pointing at mid stage. So I had a lot of exposures with real uneven lighting.
Anyway, here they are. Tried to show motion since afterall, I had to drag...
From the 2007 Lebanon Country Fair. The Emily Clinton Band is a country band from Glastonbury, CT (she's 16). I'm not a country music fan (my wife is), but she was an excellent singer, and the band was tight.
Shot with a 20D/Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX wide open at f/2.8 and ISO 1600. Handheld...
Sound engineer Skip monitors the Allan & Heath board as The King Pins (blues) tear up the stage at the Lebanon Fair
