for all you who like to shoot Birds... lots of cool stuff http://www.whatbird.com/
A couple more harrier shots, these guys should be heading back North very soon. 1. 2.
Eagles one imature enjoy some food
Near the Farmington River in Canton, CT
There maybe snow on the ground but the water is fine so come on in :D
The Sigma 50-500 is pretty much junk in really low light. I was out birding the other day at a NWR and it was heavy overcast with on and off snow showers. Was having difficulty tracking birds on auto-focus. I decided to attempt manual focus and this is what I came home with. Not too shabby. 1. ...
A Roseate Spoonbill (a.k.a. Dorkbird) takes poses for a photo at the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge.
Short Eared Owl taken over the recent holidays. Pretty close pass by this bird and this was the only shot I managed to get that was reasonably in focus.
Some more winter visitors from the the far North. As much as I hate winter, it is my favorite time of year to get out and shoot, beacuse winter migration brings all the coolest birds down our way :) 1. Northern Harrier 2. Short Eared Owl 3. Snow Bunting
Another Common Redpoll, this time in great light :)
was at the dump a few months ago and heard this racket... some birds were having a loud discussion so on my way out i stopped to check it out and found these two... like always, the guy was working on their house and the know it all wife wouldn't stop nagging and squawking at him.. "its wrong"...
A few Common Redpolls who were rather photo friendly from a recent outing. 1. 2. 3.
Caught this guy in our backyard today looking for something interesting to shhot in the bleak early days of winter:)
Look out your day is coming real soon.
Yes can thankgiving be far off? :D
Hi, This is one of our Loon pair feeding their young.
To the victor go the spoils. Green heron catching some lunch.
See if you can find the little Hummer...
This Ruby Throat hummingbird was nice enough to pose for me. Not often I actually see one perching, and never have I had one perch this close!! Taken at a local swamp, not a feeder setup, which makes this a very difficult image to get!!
Guess they didn't read the sign or don't care. :D
Caught this on a little back road exploring. Guess they know how to cool off on a hot day.
