Just what the title says - a slug...
A couple of insects that I shot last year... First the common housefly. And a grasshopper.
Its been awhile since I posted anything (or shot anything). I didnt get anything I am happy with but figured I would post a few anyway.
I think I did much better this time around. Still need to get a handle on this macro thing but it is fun trying to learn something new. Any tips on how to imrove????? Using a Nikon 50mm1.8 with the 20mm Kenko Tube (shot these with my old D50) Thing still works like a charm and has never been...
check out this guys DIY macro rig.. not the prettiest one around but it does the job... http://www.flickr.com/groups/mimicry/discuss/66514/ for all you macro junkies on a buget.. maybe this will help!
Got some tubes months ago and never used them. Took them out and tried some flowers for a trial run. Right away I realized I have no clue what I am doing. These taken with a D200-50mm1.8 w/20mm tube handheld, Indoors in really lousy light. I was going to take them outside to try this but it is...
Which macro rail do you use? Is it important to buy an expensive one? How should I decide which one to get? Thanks!
Don't you mind sharing your macro setup when you photograph table top, jewelry? - Tripod - camera - digital back (if applicable) - lens - macro rail - lights - did I miss anything? Thanks a lot!
Hi! I am looking for a Mamiya or Phase One 120mm "D" version macro Lens. Let me know if you want to sell yours! Otto
Macro is so fun! (And no I will not use my rings for bugs... I'm scared. There, I said it!) Just picked up 12 and 24mm kenko tubes and of course threw them right on the 50mm 1.8 craptastic Canon lens. I guess that lens is good for something after all! Now just to work on the reflections...
These were my first couple shots a few weeks ago... when I wasn't allowed out any further than the porch LOL :wc
I finally got out and shot some macro again... it's been a LONG time. I sold my D200 and picked up the D300 shortly before my surgery, but haven't had a chance to use it much... well, except for the hundreds of RC pics I've been taking at the house while recuperating LOL. I decided I better...
A fly from a few days ago.
Found this guy last Sunday, after doing some searching I found out that it's a Assassin Bug Nymph.
One night I really felt the need to photograph something, but I felt very uninspired. I looked up some ideas online and eventually spent a few hours practicing macro with items around the house. I made a light box in the past few months, but I haven't been happy with the results so I didn't use it...
I recently acquired a Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens. Very nice lens, works great and sharp as nails, even at 1.8. I have never really messed around with macro nor do I know much about extension tubes. Could I convert this to a decent macro lens by using extension tubes? If so, any recommendations?
Spring is coming and the insects are starting to arrive! Finally got a chance to put Trish's macro lens to some good use after the winter hibernation.
