Here's a picture of my little hiking partner, she's a 1 1/2 year minature Dachshund, so full of energy and keeps up with me even with those little legs.
What type of light do you recommend for light painting buildings, large objects? Lot of people recommending the Brinkmann Q-beam spot light. I have looked at it and the internal rechargeable battery fails often. Do you have any recommendation? Thank so much!
I wee little baby frog hopping around our lawn.
Just a lil encouragement for you folks that have had Winter Cabin Fever! Photographed this Morning down in my backyard....Plum Tree. Which I might add is at least a week early for Booms here in Upstate NY. The Male House Finch is starting to look all pretty for His future Lady! :D

my tree spirit visits with me at lunch time and only on sunny days! I seem to be the only person at my place of employment to see him ~ so, I took his picture and put this as my desktop background on my work computer... and one guy still didn't see him! gah.
I was going through some shots from the beginning of the season and found a day I didnt do any processing.... so heres a couple from that day at 5-Rivers...
OK, I couldn't wait to try out the new 40D. So what do I shoot at night? The moon of course! I broke out the Celestron Super C8+ telescope (2,000mm focal length, f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope) and got a couple shots using Live View (I'm really going to love that feature!) This is exactly...
Out of probably 100 shots I got these few good ones. Its like shooting skeet.
Here is a sunset shot from this evening. I am loving the ISO50 capability. Looking at the original size and the 100% crops, it is super smooth. Original 14MP image here: http://brittonx.smugmug.com/gallery/4805506_8rJ7f#313249527_sTKie-O-LB Here is a 100% crop of the 14MP image
I took a drive up to Hope Falls, just outside Northville looking to shoot the waterfalls. I got a little side tracked by the salamander. I reached into the bag, grabbed the macro, and .... the poor thing.... he got hit by the paparazzi!
I was all over the Adirondacks this weekend. I drove up to Lake Placid on the Northway I 87, and then took the scenic route back home via Rte 30 through the Adirondacks. I see alot of posts from that area, so for those of you who are familiar with that area know about the beautiful wilderness...
Since I'm new here, I don't know how meet ups are organized, ie... who can organize them etc... However, I just got back yesterday from being out in the Adirondacks... Anyone ever been to Middle Lake up in Benson? It's a pretty good warm up hike for the season. It gets you kind of conditioned...
I did a little reprocessing on a few of my favorites from last year... C&C welcome!! I'm starting to really get spring fever! I can't wait to get out and get some real nature and macro shooting in... all this house hunting is really putting a cramp in my FREE TIME lol
