Sitting here at work, looking out on another miserable day! Whats this crazy weather doing to us? We've had so much snow this January that I thought I was loosing my mind, then we had a few 50+ degree days in Feb, then March comes and it was 70 Degrees in CT. on friday. Yesterday we got snow, sleet and rain and today, Even though it isnt raining, (It might as well be) its damp and chilly out... And they are saying more snow for the next day or two... great!! The only thing I can do now is reflect on Summers and springs past by looking at some of my older flower shots. Koi and Water lilly in our pond we had in Wallingford. A Gazania from our old garden.. A crazy daisey macro shot... A Tulip we had... Orange Calla Lilly... And lastly, a red lilly, fresh from the rain...

I hope everyone has had a wonderful 2010 and is ready for a fresh new year with many challenges. This year seemed to fly right by. I'm just happy I finally got the NortheastFoto site (as well as my other forum, PDAPhoneHome.com ) updated finally. The forum software running here hadn't been updated in about 4 years and it showed. One of my challenges for this year will be to do much more photography than I did the last part of 2010. My daughter is playing club volleyball so that will definitely help, but I want to expand and get into more areas too. We have been trying to cut back on expenses and digital photography is a virtually free hobby... once you have the investment in the equipment. I also want to get going on archiving our old video and pictures that are stacked in boxes in the attic. That is an unlimited amount of work, but should be rewarding. What challenges do you have in photography for 2011?
I hope all of the NortheastFoto community is having a wonderful Christmas and holiday season. We just opened presents and had a great time. I'm now off to print a picture for one of my daughters' presents that has yet to be given. My youngest got a Canon 1300IS and seems to really love it. She really loves photography and has a real eye for composition at age 14. Share your Christmas pics with us in the gallery.
I just setup a Facebook application for the NortheastFoto community and turned on the capability in the site. Its fully integrated and has lots of options I would really encourage you all to try out if you use Facebook. You can hit the little Facebook button up in the header and connect to your Facebook account to get started. I also want to promise everyone that I'm not doing any super secret heist of your personal data. The application connector gives you the option to pull over a few of your info items to sync with the forum if you want, but its optional. Once you link up with Facebook, you'll have a lot of new capabilities in the forum. You can post a new thread, post, blog entry, or article comment to your Facebook wall. You can also hit the Like button and reflect it in Facebook. I believe this is a great way for us to grow the community. Check it out!
