They were hitting the feeds hard today, I should be able to claim them as dependents.

There was the suet loving Mr. Downy

followed by Curious Goldie Goldfinch.

Guess hunger wins over curious. :D Getting back to eating.

And last but not least the biggest pig of them all. Mr. Squirrel
Ya I know this one should be in animals, but that would ruin my cute little story, anyway he's eating bird seed isn't he? :happy :D :D

Great shots Sandy..

3Q's for ya,

1) are you shooting these from inside your home (thru a window) or from a deck?

2) How close do you stage your feeders, to shoot these?

3) What are you glass are you typicaly using for these?

Thanks for the comment.

1) Shooting from inside through a double pane picture window, so I guess you can say I was shooting through 2 thick pieces of glass with air in between Also one of the rare times I used a tripod.:D

2) The suet with the woodpecker is about 18' away and the one the goldfinch is on is about 10'

3) I used my Tamron AF70-300mm F/4-5.6 Di LD Macro 1:2 lens, wish I had a little more reach, but for the money this lens is hard to beat.

My walk around everyday lens, which I have used for these also is my Sigma 18-200mm.

Gee thanks for the heads up, it hasn't quite reached us here yet, mostly a very light rain. Stay dry.

Thanks Ross, the reason I made that squirrel feeder was in hopes it would keep them out of the other bird feeders, wishful thinking on my part.:doh

It does however make for some interesting viewing when 2 of them start to fight over who goes in. The best one was when a Blue Jay went into the glass jug and a squirrel tried to go in, what a commontion, believe it or not the Blue Jay won. :D
