Does anyone know who made this stobe, where i can find parts or if i can find parts. i dont know how old it is my father found it in a storage closet at work along with a two others without power cords. this one has a power cord but the strobe tube and modeling light are broken. as are the others. i have tried to google the name on the pack but no luck. the tag states: PAK INDUSTRIES, INK PAK M-SERIES MODEL M-40 SERIAL # H307IN

Pak is an old lighting company they went out of buisness in the 1980's.. I have encountered a few odd pieces now and then. But I belive they were consumed by another company.

But I have no exact knowladge of who or when.

I cant really see the back of the light, could you show the controls that are on the back (Where the Fuse is at)

I am thinking that you might have to see if a 3rd party company will perform the service on it. Paul C Buff (White Lighting & Alien Bees) have very similar lights, you might want to call them, and see if they will repair (or re-tool) the light.

They do that sort of thing.

fuse is top left, power bottom left, top right is for the output controller (first pic)

Hmm I was hoping to see a diffrent control plug.. Well this is not going to be easy to get many replacement parts.

If your looking for flash bulbs, Paul C Buff has them, but I cant tell you the size, or model to what you will need. I see it has what looks like a small Halogen buld (Model Track Light) in the center. But I don't know the wattage that you would need.

i got this listed on one of the Flickr groups im on.. we'll see if anyone can help us! for now, are there any more labels or anything on these? also, is one an M90 and the other an M40?

thank you zacker...im not sure about the other ones they are at my parents i will check on them tonight as for any other labels the only one that said anything other than pak m-90 was the manufacturers label on the bottom which is shown in the pics

I don't think it is a Pac M-90...I think it reads Pac M-40 check it out on the model # on the bottom of the unit...3rd photo says model # M40

Thats a great find, but I am guessing its going to be real hard to find the parts. If you do though, you'll be pretty happy about it I'm sure. I love to find something old and get it working again. The problem is that sometimes it costs almost as much to get old stuff working as it does to just buy new stuff. :(

thats what i thought to... but theres a huge white M-90 on the side...lol so which is it? I dunno. Maybe one is M40 and the other M90? lol its very perplexing (i dont even know what that really means..lol) :Hammer

So, did you find anything out? I'd be interested in them if you decide to unload them, I'm more interested in the cases, as I am building some bare tube novatron/speedo brownline heads to keep softboxes set up with. (the Novatron baretube heads are expensive, crappy and the older ones (2150) rearely show up at all used, hardly any were sold in fact according to my Novatron connections.

sorry all live has been very hectic for me lately...as of yet I havet gotten any further news on my strobes, I had spoken to an older guy at milford photo briefly and he had remembered the strobe and manufacturer, as te are no longer around he stated if I bring the unit to him he may be able to find a tube and bulb to fit hopefully I can do that soon but if not I will be selling them off for partsthanks for all your help I will keep you posted
