I don't know if these go here or in sports... It was the Destin World Cup this weekend for the powerboat racing. These big guys get up to about 180 on flat water like today. Panning and shooting was a bit of a challenge with a slow 300mm lens. Here's the better ones... the rest are also on my flickr page

Wow, I didn't know they were still doing this stuff this time of year... but I guess its warmer down there. I watched the final weekend of NHRA drag racing this weekend. Would have liked to have been able to go, but it was in California... so that wasn't happening. I'm going to make it a goal for next year to catch one of the East Coast races.

Great shots considering the conditions and what you were working with. This is where that 600 f/4 is probably pretty common for the pros.

damn those things are cool, but with a price tag over $500K they should be!
