My oldest daughter Katina had her first soccer practice this past Saturday morning (Kindergarten division). Of course I brought my kit along - only had one parent ask me which paper I was with... :D Looking like a reporter (20D with grip, Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8, photog vest with lenses weighing it down, etc.) does have it's perks - I went everywhere around the fields and never got yelled at! ;) :D

Great Photos! I like #3 the best, great action with the balls! :)

Nice shots Tom. At this level, you shouldn't have any problems with access. Soccer, unlike some other sports, affords you the ability to walk right up to the field. Even at high school, unless you are at Sectional Championships or something, I've never had anyone question me for shooting from the sidelines. They will sometimes ask you not to be behind the goal keeper though.

Thanks guys!

Mike - yeah, I agree about the access, but I was the only parent roaming about - everyone else was sitting calmly on the hillside overlooking the fields, even those with dSLRs. Not sure if it's a rule that I don't know about, but until someone tells me otherwise, I'll be shooting her. :D

Those are great, she is doing awsome. Our daughter ran away from the ball at that age! I'm all over the field too, can't help myself.

Tom,
Great shots! She looks like she's having a blast.
Beware, this is only the beginning! After this, she graduates to travel league, then soccer camp in the summer, more travel league, tournaments, JV, Varsity, in all kinds of weather, rain, snow, wind, oy!
Don't get me wrong, it's a joy watching them play, it just seems like soccer consumes your life after a while. :o:

Great shots of your daughter! I'm pretty sure you're a very proud parent. It is necessary to give the best soccer training (http://www.firestormsoccer.com/) during their early age so their talent will be developed as early as possible. Lucky parent, congrats!
