Well I've designed my first album and I wanted some C&C on it if you guys don't mind, let me know what works, what doesn't and anything in-between :D Thanks!

4th and 5th page (this one I can't decide on, it seems awfully busy, but I like the song in the background, the song has a lot of meaning to the bride, so I keep going back and forth)

i like the layout alot. and the one that you think is too busy... i like it too. it would be busy if it was every page but that one works, imo

K... i like it, the busy one? yeah busy to me also... the rest rocks, you should, if youre thinking on wedding photography for a job (and you should, imagine how good youd be after 5 more? theres already alot of good shots here..) you should take a night course on making albums and or scrap booking... it would really help you alot!!

Wedding photog.. you can make like $500.00 and up every friday night and sat afternoon!!!! wish I liked shooting weddings..lol

Overall, it looks great and you really have the eye for weddings. I agree with the one you feel is busy, only because the background is taking away from the photos, it sort of leads you to that and they get lost. You could put borders around those photos to seperate from the background as well. Keep up the great work !

let me ask, is this a new thing in wedding albums? instead of prints mounted to a page? I think I like the older style albums better, Its either the fact that im old or not used to this style but I think id rather have a really nice album with the photos printed on a high quality paper and mounted with "photo corners" to a nice sheet of really high quality, fine paper... but that can cost hundreds... i guess im prolly just not into the collage type look for myself... but for others.. if its what they want, its what they'd get..lol
Good Job K!

Thanks guys for the input, I'll play with that one page today and see what I can come up with before I show it to them.
Zacker here's a link of the books I'm using, they're really nice looking IMO, but they're more coffee table style then anything... I found a new company I would like to use but I have yet to try out their layouts so I don't know how easy they are, they're also a little more expensive then these (at least for the quality I'd want) I think I might give them the option of either and let them decide.

Here's the other company, I like that they look more like traditional albums...

I guess it all depends on the people and what they prefer.

Yeah Craig, this is one of the latest wedding crazes. All the photographers offer prints, digital versions, a digital slideshow/DVD and a variety of books. Some of the DVDs look like books and you digitally turn the pages. And some of the prices are astronomical as well.

Thanks K..

thank you too Jay. I dont really mind these but I guess i just like a more traditional look...which is kinda funny seeing how I was married in a house full of people we had just met that day, in VA. by "The Marry'in Librarian" lol but I guess its true what they say about southern Hospitality...

I know the feelings. We get to have 2 weddings. One down here for her family and our local military friends and one up in NJ for all my extended family and other set of friends. Although I told her that the mega-reception and photographers, etc... she only gets one. I'm not doing two $60,000+ weddings. HAHAHA. I wish I could have the talent and patience to shoot a wedding. LOTS of money in it for a pro.

Looks great Kadian! Photos are superb, and the layout is really nice.

I agree that one page looks somewhat busy. One suggestion - can you lower the contrast between the words and the background image, making them meld more together, and making the text more subtle? I think that would clean it up a bit, while still keeping the feel of it.

More like a watermark Tom? I think that's a good idea to try Kadian.

Yeah, but not so subtle - somewhere in between where it is now, and a watermark.

I think it looks much better - it melts into the background, but is still there to read.

one thing i did notice K, on the original, the colors of the BG and words are almost the same as the colors in most of the shots on the page... white and tan... might be why its hard to distinguish between the pics and the bG making it feel too busy..

I had liked the the original initially. but after seeing the new version, i think it's much better. I agree with Tom.
