Taken on Trail at Cornell's Lab Of Ornithology Lab last Fall.
Taken with my former 10D and my Sigy 80-400mm.
75ft away at ISO 1600 (10D at high ISO was terrible....fixed with CS3 and LightRoom)

Still wish it woulda been a nice Buck with at least a 8pt rack! :(

Thanx so much for your kind comments!
Did the best with what I had at the time.
A rare opportunity that I hope happens again!

great shots, i can never find deer just sitting around in range of the camera, its like hunting season, they know you are out there looking for them.

Actually I'd probably have good luck just before Gun season here.
Round that time they are.....well we will say "frisky" :love and aren't too worried about what's around em. :D
One of my goals is to get some nice frames of a horney Buck....horney as in 8pts or better! :roflmao

missed a great shot this AM on my way to work... two young bucks about 20" from my car... I was driving down a wooded road and one crossed the road so i slowed, he walked onto someones front lawn where there was another one standing so still i first thought it was a statue.. then when i stopped to try and grab the cam, they both took off and ran in a few circles around the yard and then bolted down twords the lake...lol they were ripping the heck outta that poors guys lawn though...lol they had little antlers growing, looked to be about 12 inches or so.
