I had asked in another thread about what was allowed at the Palace... never having been there before. Well, I brought in a medium sized Lowepro bag and they didn't even ask what was in it. I think I could have easily brought in my 70-200 f/2.8 IS, and probably something bigger like the 120-300 f/2.8 Sigma which would have been great. We were WAY up in the balcony to the point that you couldn't make out any facial features on anyone in the band. I brought the Mark III, a 135L f/2, a 50 f/1.4, and a TC1.4. I shot mostly with the 135+TC... and light wasn't that big of an issue. Here are two of the better shots... heavily cropped. These were processed completely in Lightroom from RAW images... not done much of that.
