'tis that time of year again - the 4th iteration of the Connecticut Eastern Railroad Museum's Night Photo Shoot! This year it will occur on Saturday June 9, 2007, and go from 8pm to about midnight at the museum in Willimantic, CT. There's a $20 donation per person, and spots are very limited. Contact me if you're interested.

We should have more trackage available to us this year, including possibly the track to the turntable & roundhouse!

Here's the details of the shoot:

Couple updates-

1. Track to the turntable, unfortunatley, will not be ready for the shoot (still needs to be leveled, ballasted and tamped). Volunteers are working on the multiple crossing area (4 tracks) so we can possibly do a 4 way lineup. I am working on something for down by the turntable, though, but it won't involve a locomotive or rolling stock :D.

2. Mark Player, our normal light guy won't be able to make it this year. Steve Barry of Railfan & Railroad has graciously agreed to light the night in Willimantic.

There's still some spots left, so let me know if you'd like to attend.

The shoot is getting filled up. I've got Kadian & Ross penciled in, but I'll need confirmation from you two in the next week or so. Right now we've got 7 of the 12 spots sold. If anyone wants in, let me know & get me the payment so I can lock in your spot.

Hey Tom, all I have to do is find a sitter for the kids and we're in, let me call around tonight, it shouldn't be an issue. My husband would love to come to just let me know if that's okay and I'll send the payment to you. Thanks for all the info, I'm looking forward to it... guess I'm gonna need to suck it up and buy a tripod (or 2) though... LOL

Don't have to worry about flash - we provide that. :D

Magic wings, night train shoots, rafting trips... I can't wait until Uncle Sam releases me from the south so I can get back home north of the Mason-Dixon and join you guys.

Go figure, maybe next year... Or if there is the one in September we could maybe make it to that one... (His B-day presant, lol)
So, can you tell Aron is on here more than I am, lol... Since he came home I have been so buisy...

Sounds good!

FYI, your tickets for the night shoot are good for the entire day at the museum, so if you come down early, you can poke around in the daylight.

When are you showing up Tom?

I'll probably get there early afternoon (12-1pm or so). I like to make sure all the equipment is blocked up right (we don't have as large a train crew as BSRM, so it takes a bit more prep) so switching is kept to a minimum. Then Bob LaMay & I are taking Steve B. out for dinner, probably around 5 (depending on when Steve gets there), and should be back around 6:30-7pm.

I'll be finding out this weekend what tracks we can use, and what equipment is running, then finalizing the shots. There's been a ton of trackwork going on, so hopefully we can use some of the newer rails.

Well let me know if you will need some help... I can certainly put on my boots for the daytime and help out as needed... since I am qual'ed now and all...
