This is a great video that was done by Imaging Resources at PMA of an interview ith Canon's Chuck Westfall - http://www.imaging-resource.com/EVENTS/PMAS07/video/video_popup.php?url=Bb3yuh_0E9s . There is a lot of info in here on the new Mark III capabilities, but the real tidbit I found interesting was his comments about the 580EX II. Of course we've heard that its weather sealed which is nice. It has a socket for attaching a wireless slave, which is also nice. The tidbit is that he indicated that the 580EX II didn't have to operate in Manual when using it with a wireless slave such as a PocketWizard. Traditionally, with flashguns you had to choose to use their proprietary wireless sytem and have full automatic capability, but the strict limitation of both distance and the need to have the IR modules having line of site of each other. This made it tough to use them in a setting like a gym. Chuck said that you could set the flash to operate as a slave, and to automatically determine the power needed. He didn't mention ETTL, so I'm not sure what the difference is... but he did say that the flash has the ability to determine the light needed. This is a great capability that will make using these with PocketWizards much easier and more capable.
