Awesome shots... I meant to get up to Lake Placid this year for some of this but never did.

Shutter priority..al sports should be taken that way. and the exposure was bumped up for the snow and in raw i kicked it down a little.. I'm guessing with the mark III i wouldn't have had to because of the new highlight thing.

Nice shots......has to be difficult to capture those people, they are really moving down that hill.

i was asking because i was wondering if you tried the sports mode for action shots. i used it for some bird shots and was amazed... of course the problem was you cant shoot raw with it but the camera did a great job making the jpegs!

Good Shots!! if I may give allittle advice is to Expose alittle more over so the snow is almost wahed out so the peoples faces will be brighter. Also to get a little more sence of action get them hitting the gate! I will lock focus on the gate sometimes so i do not have to worry about my lens serching.
Here is a sample of mine from the first time that I tryed some racing.

Justin, that's a great shot you got there. I've got to get up to Lake Placid sometime and shoot skiing. I have never tried it. I love the hitting of the gate.

On the exposure tip, I do the same thing with other sports... shoot for good skin tones and let some things blow out if they must.

the only thing i think i can say is that i'd like to have it be brighter and maybe some unsharp mask. Other than that looks great
