I was taking some pictures at 50mm (there is a photoweekend thing and it ws based on Nifty(which i loaned out) So i used the kit lens.

I like the lamp shot too... nice look to it.

The first one you have some vignetting there... did you have a hood on the lens by chance?

Naw I was playing around an added after the fact I just though it looked better.. I was stuck at work today and didn't have far to roam..(first shot is where i work)

I don't know that the vignette works for me.... I think of that more in portraits. You might try hitting it with a little of the shadow/highlight filter in PS, and then bumping the saturation up a little to bring out the color more.

I dont mind the vignetting at all... but I would possibly add to the effect a bit by desaturating them so they look "older"... the only technical issue I see is that both pictures seem slanted towards the right slightly... the first is only an illusion (I measured areas) but the second is actually leaning...

I love that lamp shot! Very warm, seemed to have a "relaxing evening" feeling and glow.
