Well yesterday before the BSRM shoot, Ryan, Dave and I (a.k.a. The Berkshire Morons) went up to Washington Hill on the B&A. On our way upto Chester to meet up with Dave, Ryan and I came across Q293-26 in Huntington.

We met up with Dave and a couple minutes later, Q293 came around the curve and passed us...with the conductor reading TRAINS magazine.

From Chester, the three of us drove to Lower Valley Road in Becket. Nearly an hour after we got there, we heard the whine of SD40-2's and shortly after that, Q293 struggled past us.

A freshly painted Union Pacific SD40-2 and a ex-Trona Railways SD45-2 assisted CSX 8839 in pulling the train up the hill

Right on Q293's tail was Q283, who was having no trouble climbing the hill with a pair of ES44AC's.

About 45 minutes to an hour later, the last train we saw climbed the hill.

Great shots. For some reason I really like that last one of the train coming up the hill, a real classic.
