Anyone here will be going out tonight to snap couple of pics of the Perseids meteor shower? I'm still thinking about some nice dark spot where I could test my new tripod/ballhead combo :D

They said its best after midnight and will peak right before sunrise. I'm headed up to a very remote spot in the Adirondacks, so if the weather is clear, I'll try to sneak a few shots.

I went out around midnight and stayed out untill 2:30AM... but that damn Moon is almost full.. It is too bright to see the faint ones. Over the 2.5 hours I saw probably only 10. I still have to download my photos out of the camera to see if I got any of them..

i just popped out in front of my house a couple times and saw nothing. Of course, I had the moon and two street lamps working against me, plus a good amount of clouds that were basically heading to the northeast!!! oh well.. I was thinking about a wide shot on bulb for about a half hour, if there were alot of showers..

I'm going to try to get out tonight to see what I can see. I was out last night early - as in before the moon rose - trying some new things. ;) It gets pretty dark out here in the boonies, so if the moon stays away for a bit, I may be able to get something. Only saw one meteor last night while I was out.

Not much here in Lebanon. Went out after I got back from the fireworks, and between the moon and a slight haze in the air, there wasn't much to see.
