took a ride up to Coldbrook CT (mass. Line) its up near Winstead.CT. well, it wasnt as neat as i remember, the Coldbrook ( or is it colebrook?) boat ramp has changed, there used to be a road you could drive down around the lake but now its under water.. i waded out thinking i could hike around to the other side of the lake but it got up to my knees and i didnt wanna risk getting the lenses and card in my pants pockets wet.. Oh well, it was cool though the water felt good on my feets..(lol) any way, here are some uploads!

The road where it dips below the water.

this is where i wanted to be.. the land in the foreground is like a small island and i thought i could go around it on the road.. next time i wear a bathing suit...

Thanks guys, I was a little dissapointed though at the fact that I drove for an hour to get there and it was kinda ...Ehhhhhh! oh well. I stopped off in Thomaston on my way home at the New England Train Museam.. wow is it ever small! All that was there was a few cars! And It looked kinda "Dumpy" I turned around in the parking lot without even takeing any shots!

Ahh you should ALWAYS shoot... lots can be had with old cars in bad unkept situations...LOL great shots though... and while I normally dont like the paint action it looks really good on the tractor!

Nice shots, like the painting effect on the tractor. It's Colebrook, and with all the rain we've had the water will be high. the start to release in the fall to lower the level. Did you go down the boat launch road?. When you stopped at the RR Museum was it open? or was it after hours? It's is small and they have a lot of old cars. Still it's not bad for a bunch of volunteers.

Sandy, I went in on the boat ramp road.. its not as cool as I remember it though, I was there prolly 10 or so years ago and it looked like a desolate, old quarry with a road around it. Now it looks all "touristy" for lack of a better term. of course i believe the last time i was there was in late fall... but it did look desolate. The train place was open as there were a bunch of people hovering about. I thought it would have been like the one in Essex.. oh well. Anything else up that way of interest?

Got that right I was poking around in the second link and I was amazed at all the stuff they had listed, it would take years to visit all of those sites.
