9am is a little late to be looking for eagles, most activity takes place from sunrise to about 10am, so you would catch the tail end of the active period. The 3:15 would be a good time to go out with lots of late afternoon activity but by then the light is pretty bad this time of year. Sounds like a cool trip though, and you may get pretty close to the birds if you see them by boat and they are perched along the river in the trees.

Not according to what I've heard, in that area the Eagles are out pretty much most of the day, I agree with the light situation after 3 but it still isn't real bad.

Here's the link to the Connecticut Audubon society who for years has put this on.

Do you know where the boat leaves from? Any idea what type of boat it is? Steady enough for pictures?

I didn't even know that there is a way to enjoy these eagles while riding one of the best boats in the world.. I'm excited! I'm going to ask my friends if they'd like to join me with the fun..

Id like to go but I dont have any good birding glass..lol and Im shakey enough as it is, even with a tripod i cant seem to get a good shot. I really need a long (400MM at least) Anti shake lens and a faster focusing cam i think....lol
