In my secret mad scientist laaborrre-a-tory I made what looks like it iwll become the perfect flash accessory for the pocket P&S.. now that I have the design, I just need to refine it some and make it look more pleasing... lol

Funny, AFTER I made it I did a search on line and they have one posted on the instructables website but its not as sweet as mine...lol

Here she is.. a Staples Binder clip jar, some under sink drain tube, craft foam and glue..lolhttp://www.brokenfencephotography.com/photos/670848245_tf3E4-M.jpg

Excuse the black Sharpie dots and stuff, it was from my marking out holes and such, its all cleaned up now.

Notice the one darker spot down the bottom ? I need to add a bit more diffusion to where the flash enters the ring so it wont be so much hotter there than down the bottom..
Heres a shot of me.. with on board flash.. without ring and with ring.. no color correction or sharpening or curves adjustments.. just cropped and I cloned out an annoying wire cause Im too lazy to re shoot and at the time it was easier to clone it away..lol

Im not sure if you can read this on as its so small but here is a blue print sort of on how i did it.. in case you wanna try one out too!

heres the link to the big sized one you can down load..

Nice idea, looks like it works well. Have you tried any macro shots with it?

Still a bit too hot for real macro.. ill stick with the 30D and 50MM for that..lol unless its a spur of the moment type deal and all's i have is the P&S .. I still need to add another layer of diffusion too it.. make it a touch softer. Wish the cam had manual controls thoug, it would rock then!!

also working on something using the clear CD that (the protective one at the bottom of the stack when you buy them) cut a hole, off center that fits snugly over the middle section of the lens.. (the one that doesnt rotate or go in and out during focus or Zoom) and is wedge shaped with the biggest part infront of the flash.. trying different types of diffusion on it.. need to keep going till its right! ill post a shot later of a flower i took with it in macro with flash.. im rather pleased though!
