shot a co-workers CD release party for his band a few weeks back, finally getting around to posting. the lighting was awful and the bar was really small so i wasnt happy with the shoot but i was able to get a couple shots i was mildly happy with. the band was excited to have some shots by someone other than their family with their $50 p&s's.

Low lighting is always a struggle for me too. Did you use a flash? I really like the shot of the drums!

no flash, i try not to with bands. this band wouldnt have cared but its kind of a no no in the music business.

Looks like mostly a WB issue, Derric. You didn't happen to shoot raw, did you?

You can always bounce the flash. You wouldn't have to flash them in the face. :) People love me for that! LOL!!

For the LARGE venues at some place like Madison Square Garden, I wouldn't try flash. But when it comes down to it, the band (and or tour manager) has the final say on whether you can use flash or not.
