Krauses Restaurant - Halfmoon, NY

A few years back this was on the news... the (many) people who lived on this peninsula into the Mohawk River all got kicked off the land by the owners (Krauses)... come to find out... they owned their own houses... but didnt own the land they were on... and since they were renting... you get the picture... the rumor was that Krauses were thinking they could sell the land to some big condo developer... but no one bought the land as of yet and since its in an area highly prone to HEAVY river flooding I doubt they ever will....

Looks like they got as far as the security fence and than it stopped, I'm going to see what I can find out. It would be a shame to see it destroyed.

This is the old Naugatuck Railroad line, Not sure how far north the RR Museum of New England goes, I do know they go to Torrington, but I think it's only to the Litchfield/Torrington town line, well south of the station.

Here's a postcard photo I found on wikipedia

Found a little more info on the Torrington RR stations, seems there is a group trying to raise money to safe.

See, I guess I wasn't sure if the last date was the end, or the last day to post. Does that make sense?

you can actually post whenever... since it isnt a contest... I am just using the dates to more or less keep things structured... and to get people out to shoot the assignments during the particular timeframe... keeps ya out shooting and paying attention to your surroundings... =)

If I also might add a little reminder.

If possible post EXIF data to the images so that other members can see what you did to take the picture.

This helps us all to become more proficient in our photograpy. THANKS. :)

It's a little late, but WAS taken in the time period of the assignment. I just couldn't believe we were this far into June already! I see this building on the way to and from work everyday down Rt 146 in what I think is Guilderland. I tried looking up information on it online, but to no avail. I originally wanted to try to get closer (it's down a private road with security signs) but I think the composition works for it.
