I am dreaming up a shoot concept for this summer. I am looking for any input for some suggestions for a Digital Camera that could be used for underwater shooting.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good camera that is not a billion dollars?

I have just begun my search.. So anything is a good thing.

ive seen a bunch of cases for DSLR's on B&H, none of them are cheap though, i think the cheapest i saw was something like $1500. they look cool though, if i lived in the keys or some place like that i would seriously consider buying one.

Oly has an affordable P&S one.... good camera, too but probably won't have all the features you need.

Well any number of Canon P&S cameras have underwater housings for under $200... then you would just need to buy a camera...

you could stick with your XTi's and go with one of these:

One with flash case too....

As long as you don't want to deep dive, there are underwater "bags" that look like big ziploc bags that aren't overly expensive. I found a few here... http://www.keepitdrycase.com/35slrcamhous.html

I know its an old thread, but I just found it. I used a See and Sea underwater when I went diving in the Atlantic. It was borrowed from the dive operation and worked well to 130 feet. The pics were good, a little blue, but I was deep with the on-camera flash. I'd post some, but they bit the dust with my old computer. I did take some surface pics and they came out well.

howd this turn out chris? did you ever do it? I was thinking you could prolly go to an Aquarium and shoot some tak shots, then shoot the girls in front of a green screen and add them in.. no?
