Been trying to stay around the house this week to get my acheing bank account back on its feet.... so boredom overtook me and I went out with my 1D Mark 2, 500L, and Siggy 100-300/4 to try and get some jump shots with our critters...

I ended up shooting almost a gig and got a couple... the best in my opinion is a great catch even though its slightly blurred... they are HARD to catch in the air... and shooting with the 500L it was next to impossible...

I feel your pain :doh

Those are great shots, like others have said the one where the 2 are jumping is fantastic. You are so right about how fast they move, trouble is even when you think they're still they're still moving. The only thing tougher is trying to take a photo of crows, slightest movement or noise and they're gone.

I usually just wait them out... I know the route under the fence they take... so I stalk the "on ramp" to the food..

You're kidding, right??
$30 a WEEK!?
I can't stand squirrels. LOL!
When I put out bird feed, I mix in hot pepper flakes.
Squirrels hate it, but it will not bother the birds at all.

Sometime I'll have to tell y'all my "How We Got Rid of Chipmunks without Poison or Bullets" saga.

Great photos, though!!

Its my mother that loves them... we dont do the chipmunk thing though... they tear up too much... but the squirrels dont bother anything... we actually lay out ground food so that the birds and squirrels can all eat... and they do... we had cardinals, bluejays, crows, and some smaller birds today along with the squirrels...
