Hey guys, anyone know if you can safely use fluorescent bulbs in photoflood lamps? I have a set of Smith Victor studio lights, which are extremely warm, ok HOT :eekwhen on for a period of time. I am looking to use cooler bulbs as purchasing a new set of lights is out of the question at this time.

Thanks Muchly

Also keep in mind that you can now get both cool and warm white flourscent bulbs for standard lamps (light fixtures) I think one of them is very close to natural sun. This might help

Flourscents have changed quite a bit.

they should be fine, i have used florescetn bulbs for a makeshift studio setup and they worked fine. just be aware of the white balance issue!
